A Prayer for the LORD’s Help

How much longer, LORD, will you forget about me? Will it be forever? How long will you hide? How long must I be confused and miserable all day? How long will my enemies keep beating me down? Please listen, LORD God, and answer my prayers. Make my eyes sparkle again, or else I will fall into the sleep of death. My enemies will say, “Now we’ve won!” They will be greatly pleased when I am defeated. I trust your love, and I feel like celebrating because you rescued me. You have been good to me, LORD, and I will sing about you. Psalms 13

When you are experiencing your worst storm and your greatest pain in life it may seem as though God is so far from you. You may question His love or even His existence. You may also go back and forth in your mind trying to make sence of it all as you struggle to understand why a “Loving God” would allow this to happen. I’m sure if you are living long enough you will go through this to some degree at one time or another, no matter who you are. But all I ask is that you call out to your Father in Heaven as David did in the scriptures above. He did not hide from or attempt to vanish from his relationship with God. He was open, honest, and transparent. It makes sense seeing as though God knows what we feel anyway. He see’s the things that dwell in our hearts that we don’t even see or realize. Like the pain you still carry around because you lost your mother at a young age. Or that confusion that lurks in your mind because your older brother took your virginity. He even understands the rage that lyes dormant until the next man leaves you like your father did. But I plead with you today, please don’t allow anything, any one,or any circumstance cause you to leave a relationship that will save your whole life! Cry out to your Father, be real in your relationship with Him. He will hear you, and if you don’t have a relationship with Him, I suggest you get one today.

Romans 8:39

The Message (MSG) So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us!—is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture:
    They kill us in cold blood because they hate you.    We’re sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one. None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.
