If your relationship with God is sour, then for the most part your relationships with others will smell like it. God is to be first in our lives, (meaning our love and commitment to Him has to be the most important) and when He is, things fall into place. You have to work at keeping them in place, but they do. When we understand His divine order of things; Him 1st, our selves, (not selfishness) our mate, our children, and then others, things seem to flow on a better stream. The reason I put our selves after God is because. Just because; think about it. How can you possibly give love when you don’t first love yourself? Others seem to get caught up on the kids coming after the spouse as if I mean let the baby lay and cry while you go feed your husband. That’s not what God had in mind when He explained the order of things. You see, because children demand so much attention from us it would be quite easy to only care about their needs, get lost in their world and neglect your mate. Then, they turn 18 (which really doesn’t take as long as I thought) and leave and you are alone with your mate until you die. You become one with your mate, but you never become 1 with your children.

My point today is very simple. Seek the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit. Love Him, worship him, read about Him and obey Him. Make Him your Father and your #1 priority, you’ll be so happy you did!

Deuteronomy 6:5

So love the LORD your God with all your heart, soul, and strength.

Deuteronomy 11:13

The LORD your God commands you to love him and to serve him with all your heart and soul.

Joshua 22:5

Moses taught you to love the LORD your God, to be faithful to him, and to worship and obey him with your whole heart and with all your strength.

Mark 12:30

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’
